It’s pumpkin time! (How is it almost October?!) We have carving pumpkins, large and small white pumpkins, and some pumpkins especially for baking. Come check out our patch or buy already picked.
We also have Red Delicious and Rome apples that are ready to pick!
Red Delicious are a well-known eating apple. Mild, crunchy flavor. Much crunchier off the tree than you’ve experienced from a store or restaurant.
Rome are a great baking apple. Mild tart flavor but flavor increases when cooked. Keeps it’s shape well. Not the best just for eating but some do like it for that. Very pretty red apple.
We also have: Jonagold, Melrose, Ruby Jon, some Honeycrisp, Golden Delicious, Jonathon and some Gala. Ruby Mac and Liberty are done.
We usually have apples until the end of November! The winter apples like Fuji, Braeburn, Gold Rush and Cripps Pink are coming up next month sometime.
We also have a limited amount of Bosc pears and D’Anjou pears. $9/small bucket.
Tomatoes still available for picking too!
Some educating here because I learned this last year! The San Marzano tomato on the left was picked on Sept 18th with a little orange/green color. I sent it out on the counter for 6 days at room temperature and it ripened deliciously. I think this is pretty cool. This is something you can do if the rain or freeze is coming to salvage lots of tomatoes. Or if you have time to pick early in the week but only have time to process or use them on the weekend, then you can do this too. Tomatoes are so cool!
