Ruby Jon are very similiar looking to RubyMac with a beautiful red color. Ruby Jon are part Jonathon variety which some people really love to cook with. Ruby Jons make great applesauce and are used for general baking but are enjoyed as an eating apple too.
Melrose apples have a mild, sweet flavor that develops more fully when baked. A great baking apples. Keeps it shape well and is excellent for baking whole. A very regal looking apple with a firm crunch.

The big slicing tomatoes are ripening faster so easier to find now. (Celebrity, Big Beef and Carolina Gold (yellow color) variety tomatoes are available.)

San Marzano Roma Tomatoes: For those of you waiting for these, they are starting to produce. Lots of orange color ones getting close to ripening and some red. Middle to the end of this week would be a good time to start picking these. The flavor of these are suppose to be great for sauces. The flavor is described as stronger, sweeter and less acidic. Long, slender looking tomato that has thick flesh with few seeds. Easy to peel. Heirloom variety.
