Red Delicious are Ready! Red Delicious are good for eating. They are very crunchy straight off the tree and not mealy like you might have eaten in your school lunches growing up. They are not good for baking or cooking.
U-Pick Tomatoes are now $0.50/lb. The Plum Regal, Roma VF and San Marzanos Romas (good for saucing) are the nicest quality right now. Not many slicers ripe right now, but lots of greens coming still. We have the tomato signs guiding you to a different area to park now because it's easier to get to the better varieties to pick. Feel free to look on any of the rows still but we have to best picking areas marked with a Pick Here sign or a post with pink ribbon flying.
So many nice pumpkins available now too, from our display in front of the apple orchard or pick your own from our patch behind the tomatoes.
The annual Apple Festival is soon to be here! Saturday, Oct 14th, 10am to 2pm. We will be having apple and applesauce tasting, Gator rides, apple crafts, a scavenger hunt in the orchard and a tractor to climb into. All activities are free!
